Quick Beauty Tips

Quick Beauty Tips
Staying out late and hitting the snooze button means not a lot of time to coif your locks before rushing to the office. Here's your formula to look polished fast: Start by massaging Alterna Caviar Dry Shampoo ($20) into your roots. "It soaks up excess oils and adds texture," says hairstylist Andy Lecompte, who works with Jessica Biel and Leighton Meester. Pull hair back into a chignon and twist in Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins ($6.49 for two) — one equals 20 bobby pins — then smooth over hard-to-tame flyaways with John Frieda Full Repair Touch-up Flyaway Tamer ($9.99).
30s Fake Great Skin

Balancing work, kids, husband, friends? No time for you often equals lackluster, tired skin. Don't bother layering on the foundation, bronzer, and blush; your skin will just look tired and cakey. The solution: tinted bronzing gel, applied over your face and neck after your morning shower for an instant outer glow — even if you don't feel one on the inside. L'OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Bronze One Day ($10.49) is smell- and streak-free and gives pasty skin major warmth in minutes. "Be sure to exfoliate first to banish dry patches that can leave you with uneven, dark spots," suggests makeup artist Rachel Goodwin, who primps celebrities like Christina Hendricks and January Jones.
40s Perfect Your Pout

Chances are your lips are not as plump as they were in your 20s, and your favorite lipstick may be sinking into fine lines around your mouth. Solve the problem by always using a lip plumper before lipstick. "Plumpers keep your lips hydrated, which prevents new lines from forming and simultaneously fills creases you already have to stop color bleeding," explains Goodwin. Look for products with anti-aging ingredients like ceramides and vitamin E. We like Laura Mercier Lip Plumper ($30).
50s Look Luminous

Highlighters and concealers are simple to use and take years off your face. For expert-level results at home, try Goodwin's red-carpet recipe: After foundation, gently pat concealer under your eyes, paying special attention to the inner corners. Then cover laugh lines by dabbing a concealer with wrinkle-relaxing properties on with your fingers. When your makeup has set, use a sponge to press highlighter along your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and on the V of your upper lip to add radiance. We love Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Conceal & Brighten ($35).

Best Beauty Tips Ever

Best Beauty Tips Ever
All of us have received our share of beauty advice from well-meaning "advisers." Much of it we politely dismiss, like the urgings of finicky hairstylists who insist we cut our hair according to "the latest style." Once in a blue moon, though, we're treated to a tidbit that winds up becoming an indispensable part of our daily routine. Here, experts share the beauty advice they got and never forgot.

Love your face the way it is -- and the way it will age. The women in my family embraced their "flaws" and became more and more beautiful as they got older. If all we do is focus on our imperfections, we'll never recognize our unique individual beauty. When you have a vision of yourself as you are rather than as you think you should be, you're at peace with yourself and can focus on your best features. As soon as I stopped saying "I look awful," I recognized that I could be beautiful. -- Laura Mercier, makeup artist and creator of Laura Mercier Cosmetics

Less is more. We live in such an excessive culture, but it is the simple, easy, practical things that are best when it comes to makeup, skin care and even fashion. I can't remember who told me that long ago, but I apply it to all areas of my life, particularly my skin care. My daily routine consists of cleansing morning and night, exfoliating once daily and moisturizing, all with my ayurvedic skin-care line, Sundari. (What I use: Sundari Gentle Gel Cleanser, $30, and Neem and Avocado Balancing Moisturizer, $52; sundari.com.) -- Christy Turlington, supermodel, author and a founder of Sundari skin care

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. My mother wasn't really into beauty routines, but she encouraged me to eat the right foods -- and to always smother myself in sunscreen since I'm so fair-skinned. (This was sound advice since my skin isn't sun-damaged now.) She insisted I eat an apple a day, and I still do. A good diet ensures that your body is supplied with the necessary nutrients for health, and that shows in the look of your hair and skin. -- Antoinette Beenders, Aveda global style director

Celebrity Beauty Tips

Celebrity Beauty Tips
They always look beautiful on the red carpet, but celebrities don't wake up that way in the morning. In fact, some candid shots of celebrities without make-up look almost unrecognizable!

So how do they do it? On many occasions they have a collection of make-up artists and stylists to help, but much of the time they have to do it themselves. These celebrity beauty tips show us the home remedies that they have learned.

Of course, everyone is different, and our individual complexions and bodies require treatments that are designed with them in mind. One of the tricks to staying beautiful is to do exactly what these celebrities have done - find the beauty secrets that suit you.

The star of Shakespeare in Love, 36, swears by fresh organic food to keep her complexion glowing. She also drinks lots of water and regularly wears sunscreen outside to protect her skin.

One celebrity beauty tip from Gwyneth that you may not have have heard before - before Apple's birth, she found that taking prenatal vitamins was the best thing for her hair, so she still does it!

According to Gwyneth, "It doesn't matter if you are pregnant, I swear to God. I have double-processed blond hair, and it's so long and not damaged.

How does the Welsh actress, 38 this year, stay beautiful for her husband Michael Douglas? Catherine's grandmother passed on a variety of home remedies that she still uses on a daily basis.

To keep that perfect smile, she brushes her teeth with mashed-up strawberries. Strawberries contain Malic Acid, which acts as a mild astringent when mixed with baking soda.

I love the little small braid, and then my hair is not too done,” Kourtney, 32, tells me of her beach look during a John Frieda Destination Style salon event in NYC. “It’s about the texture. It’s that undone look, which I love. I hate when my hair looks too perfect – it’s like my pet peeve. Unless it’s like a slicked-up bun – well, if it’s a slicked-up bun, that needs to be perfect - but otherwise I like it to look messy. It’s beachy hair.”

Khloe, 26, tells me, “That’s how I am. When I’m in the sun, I don’t like my hair up, really, in general. It’s so much easier to have it pulled off your face, but I don’t feel sexy. I mean, she looks ‘to die’ like that, so I do love having my hair long and beachy, and having a soft wave.”

She adds, “I feel like braids are very beach chic – I have no idea if that’s a word – but putting in braids is the easiest thing. Even having a tiny braid, like my little sisters do. It doesn’t pull back your hair, but having them throughout your hair makes you look beautiful and funky - even though you didn’t try. Like, I used to do that in class, when I was in school, I’d do one of my braids, and you’d look that much cooler. [laughs]”

For summer style, Kourtney says “it’s all about bright colors.”

Kourtney and Khloe call coral, turquoise and yellow their favorite seasonal shades.

And when it comes to makeup, Khloe has her summer selects.

Model Beauty Tips

Model Beauty Tips
As much as people tend to believe beauty is inherited in our genes, I believe it is a lot more than that! To me beauty has always been a lifestyle and state of mind! If you were given the best most beautiful genes in the world and neglected yourself completely and had a nasty attitude, you would more than likely not be seen as attractive! So when models are passing out beauty tips, I’m always quick to grab them! Especially when the models are in their 40′s and still look amazing! Elle Macpherson’s is a model that I think has aged so beautifully and if you thought it was all in her genes, she’s here to tell you she had a little help from these super easy tips!

Elle’s Beauty Tips!

I eat organic, locally sourced food wherever possible. I don’t like to have chemicals in my body at all, so I don’t drink, smoke or take drugs, not even Aspirin.

Actually most of the most beautiful women in the world don’t drink or smoke! Sure the health hazards are enough of a reason, but it has such a terrible effect on your outsides too!

The most important thing for me is scrub. I have a scrubbing mitt and I buff my whole body and face everyday twice a day, in the shower in the morning and bath at night. And then moisturise; the texture of skin is really important.

I can’t express the importance of scrubbing and dry brushing enough! It is sooo important for circulation and also drainage of any lymphatic fluids! It also helps keep your blood circulating, which means it works as an anti-aging unit!

If you don’t drink lots of water there’s no point. I challenge any woman to drink 3 litres water everyday for a month and sleep for seven hours a night, that she won’t lose weight, look better and feel better.

Many of my friends were astonished that I disclosed the coveted gastronomy and lifestyle secrets of French women in my books. They'd probably be stunned to find out that I'm willing to share our beauty secrets as well! But here they are—the five beauty secrets that French women swear by:

Secret #1: French women know that hydration is the key to good skin and good hair. I strongly recommend drinking a glass of water before going to bed and first thing in the morning. Water is the French women's secret weapon—for skin and beauty, for health (flushing toxins) and for weight control (don't snack when you think you are hungry, your body is really thirsty).

Secret #2: French women appreciate that good circulation makes one glow. French women are not afraid of using cold water in the shower to get one's circulation going. It is certainly part of my routine. The opening then closing of the pores with hot then cold water, the shock to the nervous system and wake-up call to the brain of a cold shower, and the rigorous towel wiping after a cold finish to a shower bring blood and color to one's skin.

Secret #3: French women are taught and know grandma's beauty rituals work. My Mother taught me, for example, to clean my face thoroughly every night before going to bed and to apply a mask periodically (her fifteen minute version included cucumber slices over the eyes and a crushed strawberry-honey mix for the face); and she taught me to rinse my hair with cold water with an added tablespoon or vinegar or lemon juice for added shine before moisturizing.

Secret #4: French women navigate the health benefits and risks of the sun.
Apart from a Riviera-bronze fixation in the 1960s and 1970s, French women are not sun-worshipping lizards. Today they are much more likely to apply their tan from a tube or bottle than from a month at St. Tropez. They are careful to wear sunscreens and look for appropriate SPF in their beauty emollients. And while they are likely to sit in the shade to protect their skin, they are equally likely to be out and about in the sun, enjoying its light and benefits, by walking or doing some light sports or movement as part of their weekly routine.

Summer Beauty Tips

Summer Beauty Tips
Summer is a great time for relaxation, recreation and renewal. If you're like most of us, you probably take advantage of the longer days and warm weather to enjoy extra time with family and friends. While enjoying the hot, lazy days of summer, keep in mind that different beauty rules apply. Here are a few tips to keep you looking as good as you feel:
Summer Hair Care

    *

If you spend lots of time outdoors and want to spice up your look naturally, try combing a little lemon juice through your hair. The sun will lighten those strands faster than your locks sans lemon, giving you an attractive sun-streaked look. It's also easier on your budget than salon highlights.
    *

Be sure to deep condition your hair at least once a week, especially if you swim a lot. Hair tends to become dry, dull and brittle if it is soaked and dried too often.
    *

If you like to swim lengths, try spritzing on some leave-in conditioner under your swim cap to help ward off damage from chlorine and salt water.

Summer Skincare Tips

    *

It may be hip to be tanned, and it does tend to camouflage a multitude of imperfections, but don't deep-fry your skin for the sake of fashion. Your best bet is a high quality bronzer in a bottle. The Body Shop has a great all-natural formula. Just remember to use a facial scrub prior to application to slough off any dead skin cells. You may also want to use a pair of gloves, lest your palms turn orange!
    *

If you spend lots of time outside, be sure to use sunscreen with minimum SPF 15. The cancer-preventing benefits are obvious, but protection is also a must for those of us who don't want to look old before our time.
    *

Make sure that you are adequately hydrated - at least 8 glasses of water a day and even more when you are outside.
    *

If you do burn, apply Aloe Vera or lotions containing it. This will cool and soothe your skin and help you to heal faster. A personal trick is to apply cream containing zinc to my face at night. This is an effective way of healing my burn by the morning.
    *

Nothing is more revolting than skin full of little red mosquito or bug bites, not to mention the new threat of West Nile Virus, so don't forget the bug spray. You may want to try one of the new two-in-one sunscreen and insect repellants.
    *

For a quick skin boost in the sun, fill a misting bottle with a little bit of toner and water, and spritz your face and body for a quick cool off. Just remember to close your eyes so you don't risk burning them.

Summer Make-up Tips

    *

Take on summer with a fresh face forward - less is best! Accentuate your glowing skin by brushing on a light shimmering powder instead of a heavy foundation. You don't want to appear like you are melting under the hot sun.
    *

Those of you who read my column know that I'm a big advocate of the powder bronzer. This is a great way to give yourself a pretty glow. I like to use a matte finish on my face and then a shimmer powder on my eyelids, above my cheekbones, and on my shoulders and collarbone.
    *

A hot look on a bronzed face is shiny lip gloss. The BEST is "Lip Glass" by MAC. It gives you ultra shine over lipstick (applied with a brush) or on its own. Plus, it stays put - a big bonus for die-hard lip gloss wearers!
    *

Try a light shimmering eye shadow in beige just under your brow bone to draw attention to your eyes.

Beauty Tips And Secrets

Beauty Tips And Secrets
Are you a makeup lover? Then you probably already know all about the benefits of lip gloss. It can be worn alone, with a lip liner, or over lipstick. Each way giving you lips a completely different look. There are the glitter glosses and the sheer color glosses, each one having a different effect on how the light plays off of your lips.

One rule of thumb when it comes to lips and eyes is that if you are going to go dramatic with you eyes, you should do more of a neutral color for your lips. It’s the exact opposite if you want to draw attention to your lips, make sure to keep your eyes a little bit on the softer side. Don’t want to look too made up! Lip gloss can compliment ANY look you are going for.

My two favorite brands of lip gloss are:

* Victoria’s Secret’s Beauty Rush Lip Gloss
* Bath and Body Works Liplicious Lip Gloss

Many lip glosses, even from expensive department stores, as I have found look good for a little while, then end up drying your lips out even more than when you began. I like a lip gloss to have three critical components:

1. Looks Good
2. Tastes Good
3. It Moisturises

If it has all three of those, I am willing to pay a little more because I know I’ll be getting quality lip gloss. You know it’s a good one if you can put it on before you go to bed and wake up the next morning with soft lips! I do it all the time. You can purchase the lip gloss tubes from either store from between $4.00 up to $8.00 depending if you get it on sale or not.

The Beauty Rush Lip Gloss have even included an SPF 15 in some of their lip glosses. You can wear it knowing your lips can shine and you’ll still have protection. Choose from lusciousLip Gloss flavors including Twisted Citrus, Strawberry Fizz, and Juiced Berry. They look as good on as they taste!

Liplicious Lip Gloss has so many different colors and flavors to choose from it makes deciding which ones to buy almost impossible. Bath and Body Works also carries the C.O. Bigelow brand, which also has a hint of mint to give your lip gloss a minty-fresh kick that is heavenly!

Perfect Skin Tips

Perfect Skin Tips
By the way, it's a MYTH that 80 percent of your lifetime sun damage occurs before age 18, according to O Magazine. Katie Rodan, MD, adjunct professor of dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine, says in O that this myth stands officially debunked and studies indicate we get only 23 percent of total UV exposure by age 18. Of course it gets worse as we age. So you CAN prevent sun-induced aging by wearing sunscreen.

# Do shield your windows. The average commuter gets 200 hours of sun exposure each year and 80 percent of sun exposure is through car windows, according to Boston dermatologist Ranella Hirsch in Harper's Bazaar. To protect your skin against sun damage (the leading cause of aging skin), invest in a window shield like Solar Gard. Shields with SPF 285 can block UVA and UVB rays by 99 percent.

You saw the 5 "dos" for perfect skin care. Now here are 5 don'ts:
# Don’t pull and rub your skin. Aging skin has been under attack by UV rays, stress and carbon monoxide so don't stress it more by pulling on it.

# Don’t forget to moisturize. While it's a myth that wrinkles are caused by dry skin, moisturizing can improve the appearance of lines by temporarily plumping them up. Also consider a good eye cream. Eye creams are controversial because some pros claim they don't really do anything, but many women swear by them.

Extra tip: Moisturizers are best used on damp skin. They lock the moisture in. Dr. Dennis Gross doesn't use tap water when washing skin because of harsh minerals found in many city water sources. Instead, he rinses off with Evian water.

See my list of the best moisturizers and the best eye creams.
# Don’t ignore your neck and chest. The neck and chest are first to show the signs of aging (they have fewer oil glands than the rest of your body), yet most of us ignore them. Look for moisturizers that have age-fighting ingredients like vitamin A (retinols), kinetin, copper or vitamin C.
Don’t tan. Even if wrinkles haven't shown up yet, you need to stop tanning now because they will. Once signs of aging appears, you'll be spending a lot of money to reverse it. So if you do have sun damage? You can reverse the damage with photorejuvenation such as pulsed light treatments. Many spas and dermatologists provide these pricey fixes. If you do have brown spots, treat them with lemon juice diluted with water, according to NY dermatologist Jessica Krant in Harper's Bazaar. Krant suggests applying the mixture with a Q-tip nightly, gradually increasing it twice daily until sun spots fade away.

Older Skin Care

Older Skin Care
This causes changes in the skin, which is highly sensitive to estrogen. In older women and men, the slowdown of the sebaceous glands continues and even gathers pace, so that the skin dries and thins. The dermis becomes less resilient, the elastin fibers lose their structure, and the skin grows wrinkled and sags. And as you get older, the signs of earlier sun damage appear. These can range from creases to pigmentation changes, such as age spots or mottled areas, and a leathery, rough texture.
Loss Of Collagen

During the ten years following menopause, the drop in estrogen causes collagen levels to fall by as much as 30 percent. Collagen is the skin's scaffolding. It helps to support other tissues and blood vessels, and holds the skin together. When it breaks down, your skin loses some of its elasticity and firmness, so it begins to droop and wrinkle. The effect is young skin older skin more pronounced if you have spent a lot of time in the sun, because sunlight attacks the orderly bundles of collagen. It disrupts them, causing individual collagen fibers to weaken. A person who has spent much of his or her life in the sun has more wrinkles, and often at an earlier age, than someone whose skin has been protected from sun damage.
Slow To Repair

In younger skin, the cells are replaced about every 21 to 40 days. As you get older, the cells regenerate more slowly, and the rate of replacement falls by about half. As more cells accumulate on the surface, the skin can feel dense and rough, with dry patches. Another effect of the slowdown in cell repair is that aging skin becomes slow to heal - especially in the very elderly. Cuts, scratches, and minor wounds that could have mended rapidly when you were younger now take much longer. This is especially noticeable in the lower legs. The skin in this area becomes notably more fragile as you age. This may be because circulation in this area becomes less efficient with age as the blood has difficulty returning to the heart against the pull of gravity, and the skin therefore has a reduced blood supply. Lack of exercise often worsens the effects of poor circulation in older people.

Skin Glowing Tips

Skin Glowing Tips
Here is a simple homemade body wax for smooth glowing skin. But, before you do this make sure you have everything ready…..Have several strips of cotton (I would use an old dress shirt. A flimsy cotton t-shirt may not be stiff enough). Also have waxing sticks ready. You can find really cheap on Amazon........
()

Now get your ingredients ready……honey, sugar, and lemon juice.. (I would aim for 6-8 ounces of honey and sugar and a tablespoon or two of lemon juice.

Heat the sugar in a small pot over medium heat until it turns brown and caramelized, Then add the honey and lemon juice and mix well until it's all blended. Then place the pot into a larger pot of hot water to keep it warm…otherwise, it will begin to harden if cools.

Using the wooden waxing sticks, smooth a small amount of the mixture on your arms or legs (or whatever part of the body you're waxing) and place the cotton strip over it. Press well so the cotton strip sticks……hold the skin taunt with one hand and use the other to pull the cotton strip off …taking the hair along with it.

Make sure to pull in the opposite direction of the growth. Due this in small sections until the area is free from hair. The mixture washes off easily with warm water when you're done.Be careful not to burn yourself, you need to keep the mixture warm, but not too hot.

If you're doing large sections, you might want to replace the water in the large pot. Remember, you need to keep the mixture warm because once it cools it becomes sticky….which why it works to pull hair out from the roots. Some women find it easy to just do this in the kitchen.

Keep the large pot of hot water on the stove on low and the smaller pot or container inside so the mixture stays warm and smooth.

This does take some practice at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy and quick. The important thing to remember is to have all the ingredients ready before you heat the sugar/honey mixture.

And, with any home remedy always try a small area first to make sure you don't experience any irritation. Just because it's natural, doesn't mean some people may have u

nusual reactions.

Smooth Skin Tips

Wrinkles.  Sooner or later we all get them.  The extent to which we get them is caused by two major factors; the genes we inherit from our parents, and environmental factors — caused by what we do to ourselves.

Aging caused by the genes we inherit is known as intrinsic or internal aging and is a continuous process that starts almost as soon as we reach the peak of adult-hood.  In our mid to late twenties our bodies start slowing the production of collagen and elastin.  Our dead skin cells don’t slough off quite as readily and the production of new skin cells is not quite as efficient. Even though this process begins relatively early, we don’t see the effect until decades later. Which is why it is so important to establish a good skin care regimen early in life.

Some of the signs we begin to see are:

    * Thin, transparent skin
    * Fine wrinkles
    * Loss of underlying fat which contribute to the hollow look and dark circles under the eyes
    * Dry, itchy skin
    * Graying hair
    * Sagging skin

Our genetic make-up determines how rapidly this normal aging process proceeds.   Some of us get gray hair in our late twenties and thirties, others don’t see it until late forties or fifties.

Aging caused by environmental factors is called extrinsic or external aging. The number one cause of external aging is the harmful exposure to the sun. Many of us in over forty grew up trying to get tan.  We’d be in the sun for hours with little protection and our skin has begun to show the ravages of no SPF.

Other external factors are our habitual facial expressions including squinting, frowning, laughing and smiling. Additionally, the position in which we sleep has an affect on how and where wrinkles form on our faces and chests. Other important factors in external aging is smoking, gravity and diet

Did you know that your diet contributes greatly to the clarity and condition of your skin? Its true. Pay attention next time you eat an entire candy bar by yourself, or take notice of your skins tone and texture if you opt for a better diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, salads, healthier foods, and lots of water. Natural skin care at its best…

Nutritional consultant and author Elaine Wilkes, N.C., M.A. offers a delicious tip to getting radiant, glowing skin. In her book

Elaine Wilkes is also a Certified Practitioner of Metabolic Typing, which means she matches peoples nutrition to their metabolism, taking into account their genetics, personality, blood type, etc. She recommends creating a juicy cocktail for a vivacious skin tone and healthier complexion, and to help anyone achieve glowing skin.
Combine fresh green vegetable juices such as cucumber, celery, kale, parsley, spinach, and a little bit of apple for a delicious taste, into a juicer, she instructs.

Wilkes also suggests also adding lemon and ginger for a yummy zing.

Tips To Look Younger

Tips To Look Younger
We definitely live in a youth obsessed culture because it seems like everyone wants to look younger than their age. If you are one of the lucky ones who was born with youthful genes and you naturally look young, you are very fortunate. Most people have to work at it.

Many people choose surgery or injections as an option for looking younger, but there are many things you can do right at home that will really make a difference in your appearance without having to visit the doctor.

Here are twenty tips that you can start implementing into your schedule today that will naturally turn back the hands of time for you! Most of these are very simple and anyone can do them. Although I think we should celebrate each year we are given the gift of life, if looking younger is something you would like to do, then try these things below. I’m confident you’ll see a difference!

1. Eat Organic Whenever Possible. I know, I know, I’m the chicken wing addict, but we truly are what we eat, and the more I learn about food, the more I realize how high quality food is directly related to aging. When in doubt, organic is always better.

2. Moisturize Your Face, Neck & Hands Every Day. I am a moisturizer fanatic. I put moisturizer on four or five times a day. Make sure to use a moisturizer that contains SPF. Have you ever noticed those people that have a young looking face but old looking neck and hands? Yep, there is more to moisturize than just you

How To Close Pores On your Face

How To Close Pores On your Face
To open your facial pores, you can give yourself a steam facial. First, run hot water into your sink until it’s steamy, and let it fill up the bowl. Then, cover your head with a towel to trap the steam and place your face over the sink. After a minute of soaking up all that steam, the pores should open enough to loosen the dirt and blackheads that have clogged your skin. After you have open pores, you can use a gentle, exfoliating facial scrub to get rid of the excess grime. Finish by rinsing with cold water. Some people like to squeeze their blackheads to unclog pores, but be careful not to do anything painful — it’s bound to cause damage or scarring.

Other popular ways to open pores and unclog facial pores include:

    * Using a detoxifying mask. You can find one in your local drugstore.
    * Using pore strips, which are designed to remove blackheads from the nose. Don’t use these if you have very sensitive skin, though.
    * Getting a professional facial at a spa. This is costly, but great because it’s customized to your skin type!

Once your facial pores look nice and smooth, be sure to regularly exfoliate. Wash your face twice a day to keep it clean. You can repeat the steam facial once a week, or as you need it.

If you have large facial pores and wish they were smaller, it’s most likely due to genetics or hormonal changes. Open pores can cause the texture of the skin to look coarse — but don’t get discouraged! To deal with large, open pores, be sure to wash your face regularly

How To Minimize Large Facial Pores

How To Minimize Large Facial Pores
There are many techniques and pore treatment products you can use to reduce pores and make them less noticeable:
Kir Royal

One way to reduce pore size and visibility is to begin a solid, consistent skin care regimen. You should cleanse your skin thoroughly morning and night. By cleaning your pores of the debris and oil settling on your face, your pores will appear tight, well kept and less noticeable. Not only will you reduce large pores and their appearance, but you’ll also prevent big pores from developing in the future. Over time, you’ll see an improvement if you stick to a good skin care routine. Depending on your skin type and acne needs, a quality pore minimizing skin cleanser will work best. Most skin care brands carry a product especially formulated to minimize pores, and if you’re on a budget, you can usually find a variety of economical yet effective over-the-counter pore cleansers.

You’ll also want to invest in a toner. If you’re serious about minimizing your pores, a pore tightening toner is an essential part of getting and maintaining smaller pores. Use a cotton swab to apply the toner to your problem areas right after you wash your face. The toner will tighten pores so it’s best to do it right after they’ve been deep cleaned.

Finally, apply a light moisturizer. Stay away from super heavy creams as they can potentially clog the skin pore. When purchasing your skin care products, look for products containing retinol and Vitamin C. Salycylic acid also helps unclog and maintain clear pores.

Another way to combat large facial pores is exfoliation. This can be accomplished by using an at-home facial scrub or you can pamper yourself and visit a spa or dermatologist for a little microdermabrasion or a customized facial. If you exfoliate at home with a mild product, you can add the step to your daily skin care routine. If you buy a more intense exfoliating product, you may want to start by using the scrub twice a week.

Another economical and quick way to fight enlarged facial pores is through the wonders of cosmetics. Start with a skin primer. Primers are miracle workers when it comes to lessening the appearance of pores. and follow with a cream or cream to powder foundation which will cover the pores more easily. Top with a nice brushing of translucent powder and those large pores will be kept at bay.

There are a few products on the market that concentrate on helping to shrink pores. Pure Minerals and Murad both offer good pore minimizers. Biore and Aveeno have also proven to be effective in minimizing pores. If you are short on cash, here are a couple of home remedies: Make your own sugar scrub using a tablespoon of sugar, olive oil and honey. Mix well. Rub on your face in a circular motion and rinse with water. The sugar acts as an exfoliating ingredient. Another great home recipe is a nice egg white mask. Egg whites help tighten the skin, and you can add lemon to the mixture for an additional exfoliation benefit.

Diabetic Foot Wound Care

    Diabetic Foot Wound Care
* With damage to the nervous system, a person with diabetes may not be able to feel his or her feet properly. Normal sweat secretion and oil production that lubricates the skin of the foot is impaired. These factors together can lead to abnormal pressure on the skin, bones, and joints of the foot during walking and can lead to breakdown of the skin of the foot. Sores may develop.

    * Damage to blood vessels and impairment of the immune system from diabetes make it difficult to heal these wounds. Bacterial infection of the skin, connective tissues, muscles, and bones can then occur. These infections can develop into gangrene. Because of the poor blood flow, antibiotics cannot get to the site of the infection easily. Often, the only treatment for this is amputation of the foot or leg. If the infection spreads to the bloodstream, this process can be life-threatening.

    * People with diabetes must be fully aware of how to prevent foot problems before they occur, to recognize problems early, and to seek the right treatment when problems do occur. Although treatment for diabetic foot problems has improved, prevention - including good control of blood sugar level - remains the best way to prevent diabetic complications.

o People with diabetes should learn how to examine their own feet and how to recognize the early signs and symptoms of diabetic foot problems.

o They should also learn what is reasonable to manage routine at home foot care, how to recognize when to call the doctor, and how to recognize when a problem has become serious enough to seek emergency treatment.

Anti Aging Skin Treatments

Anti Aging Skin Treatments
The study "showed that these treatments will stimulate collagen production," Dr. Diane Berson, a dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital, explained on The Early Show Wednesday. "Collagen ... basically gives strength and support to the skin. ... It makes the skin supple and elastic. With age, you produce less collagen, and the collagen that you have becomes destroyed, and of course this is accelerated with chronic exposure to the sun."

The study, which appeared in the Archives of Dermatology, looked at injectible fillers containing hyaluronic acid, among other treatments. That acid, Berson says, is normally found in the skin. It retains fluid, hence "plumping up" the skin. The study also says the acid fillers seem to stimulate some collagen production. Both results can improve your appearance. This treatment involves a few visits to the office, about two-to-three times a year, and can cost $600-1000, total. Examples of such fillers are Juvederm and Restylane.

Another apparently effective treatment class, Berson says, is prescription-strength retanoids, such as Renova and Tazarac. These also seem to improve the appearance of "photo-damaged" skin -- skin damaged by the sun, as well as early fine lines and wrinkles. Dermatologists have observed, she says, that regular use of prescription-potent retanoids can spur some collagen production.

Also, she says, over-the-counter retanol creams have the ability to do prompt some retanol production and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, but again, not as much as prescription-strength items do. They're the least expensive way to go.

There are so many different anti wrinkle skin care products because there are so many effective ingredients that they can be combined in a bewildering variety of combinations. Some formulas, like Avotone, focus on one ingredient. Others, like Complexion MD, incorporate a wide variety of different effective ingredients.
Why are anti wrinkle skin care products so expensive?

Many factors drive up the cost of anti wrinkle skin care products. First and foremost, the products we review on this site are all premium products. That means they are manufactured with only the purest, finest ingredients. Particularly rare or difficult-to-synthesize ingredients like Argireline or GABA can make a product expensive.

Remember, too, when you purchase an anti wrinkle skin care product, you are also paying for the packaging. More elaborate packaging schemes can significantly increase the expense associated with different products.

Also, whenever you buy a product, you are in effect underwriting the advertising and marketing campaign for that product. You are paying for TV commercials, magazine ads and whatever other advertising the product manufacturers chose to use. Remember that when you're comparing a product you've never heard of to one you've seen on TV, in the newspaper and in magazines.
